For example: under strings - violin - I see a whole list of options like crecendo, diminuendo, legato - normal and expressive. Is there a way to do both? Easily?ģ) When I use the drop downs in the instrument list in K2 I see all sorts of options that don't completely correspond to the actual drop down names in GPO's Kontak list.

Which I read in your manual is supposed to happen, but what if I want to use your dynamics to quickly set levels and then to add some nuance with the mod wheel controller for certain aspects of the phrase. But if you turn Live Playback on, they do work, but now it seems to ignore the dynamic markings in the score. The controller changes show up on the score and as I'm recording in real time I hear the changes (mod wheel for dynamics in this case), but upon playback they don't seem to play. So what gives, is it actually sending mod wheel commands for dynamics? If so what do those parameters really do on the library page for those entries? And if those aren't the ones controlling my GPO where are those?Ģ) I then tried to use flexi input to write controller changes by overdubbing the flexi-time input of a passage that I have already notated.

I see that you can change to a controller value which I was tempted to do to test, but when I put dynamics into a score and play it back, I do see my mode wheel moving in the K2 control panel. all seem to be controlled by a pararameter called Dynamic (not very helpful, what is that a midi volume parameter?) With Garritan you use the mod wheel to control dynamics. I've been studying and testing and fiddling around for 2 days now and I think I have a fairly decent idea about what is going on, but it sure would be nice if there was a document that detailed the specifics about the integration of GPO and Siblelius, not the generals that the manual describes.ġ) When I look in the playback dictionary, I see that dynamics like p and mf, etc. I guess my first question is, is there a document somewhere that details the relationship between GPO's various samples and their available controllers and all the auto techniques that are preprogrammed into Sibelius playback dictionaries.

Is there a way to avoid that and to have it position itself correctly? It's a bit annoying.Īll of my other questions revolve around working with GPO (I own the full version) and Sibelius 5. click to copy it to mulitple staffs, the always gets placed on the staff in the note and I have to move it down. But if I then select that expression and alt. when I put expressions onto a particular note, ie a dynamic marking, it seems to position itself fairly ok beneath the note.

So far I only have one question about the notation aspects of the program. Note entry and moving around the score and getting to the various tools are a breeze. I should mention that I'm a convert from Finale 2007 and have managed to get more accomplished in the last 7 days than the last 9 months with Finale. I have owned this program for all of 6 days now and love it! I apologies in advance for the length of this post but I've spent the last 2 days in the manual and really just want to get started working. Terry Carter, Rural Michigan USA, 26 Aug 02:56AM
